Police are searching for suspects connected with the Saturday evening assault and battery of a Suffolk University student in Boston.The incident happened Saturday evening on 140 Tremont St. near the Boston Common.The victim, Aidan Knaster, says he was walking home to his dorm from the Park Street MBTA station when a group of five men approached him and one of them shoulder-checked him and began hurling obscenities toward him."One of them stuck their shoulder out and totally hit me very hard. It was purposeful," Knaster said. "They were all laughing; they thought it was funny. All I saw was red, and I was in a choke hold."Boston police believe one of the men hit Knaster over the head with a beer bottle."They were kind of bumping up against me and pushing me," Knaster said. "And then God forbid I try to defend myself, I pushed back, and then after that moment I couldn't tell you what happened. I blacked out."Luckily, two good Samaritans were nearby and called 911. Knaster suffered a concussion and injuries to his face. He ended up needing four stitches.Police are now asking for the public's help and if anyone recognizes any of the five men seen walking in Downtown Crossing immediately after the attack in the surveillance photo below. Suffolk University released a statement regarding the assault, which read in part: "The University is deeply concerned and saddened that one of our students was the victim of a random and senseless attack Saturday night while walking along Tremont Street. We have been in contact with the student and his family since the incident, and we are grateful that he is recovering from his injuries. Suffolk University Police are working closely with the Boston Police Department in the investigation of this incident."Knaster says he is doing OK, but is shaken up."It's not OK what they did to me. It could've been so much worse," Knaster said. "I'm really feeling the pain, it hurts a lot, but something like this won't take me down."
