From Cooking to Computers, we've ranked the utility of every Community Skill in State of Decay 2.
The Legacy Awaits update brings both new and returning customization options, including a fresh set of hats, jackets, and themed accessories for players to find throughout State of Decay 2’s post-apocalyptic world. These new additions feature firefighter helmets, aviator helmets, pirate jackets, and more. Some exclusive items, like the Cattleman Hat and Jack O' Lantern Mask, are also being re-released, so players who missed them during limited-time events now have another chance to get them.
Alongside the cosmetic items, the Legacy Awaits update also adds new weapons to the State of Decay 2 arsenal, as well as introducing new vehicles. Survivors might come across the Pizza Cat vehicle or the Flaming Demon Skull, along with melee weapons like the Titan Bat and the bladed Skullsplitter. Moreover, the update brings a set of quality-of-life improvements designed to make the overall experience better for players. For example, vehicles will now be affected by water resistance, so survivors will need to think carefully about which vehicle to use when crossing lakes or waterways. Managing inventories has also been made easier; players can now access individual survivor gear directly from the community screen instead of having to track down specific characters at their base.

Zombie encounters have also been tweaked in the update. It removes zombie spawns triggered by certain noise events, like failed searches or door slams, which used to cause sudden attacks. Along with these changes, Legacy Awaits also fixes several long-standing bugs, such as problems with ladder interactions, missing items in community inventories, and vehicle repair indicators.
With this final update, State of Decay 2 wraps up its six-year run of new content, but the story isn’t over yet. Undead Labs has confirmed that they’re now focusing all their development efforts on the upcoming State of Decay 3.

State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2is an open-world survival-fantasy game set just after the zombie apocalypse. Your small community of survivors seeks to rebuild a corner of civilization, and you get to make all the decisions about how that happens.
You decide who to recruit to your team, where to settle your community, how to fortify and upgrade your base, and when it’s time to move to greener pastures. You select which survivor to bring along on a scavenging run for the food and ammo you need, and who you’ll use to fight off the zombies attacking your base. You choose how you’ll deal with other people who move into your town. Will you be friendly and welcoming... or will you aggressively defend your territory?
Every player’s experience in the sandbox is unique. Each character in your community has their own special set of skills and traits, so no two communities are ever the same. The challenges you face also vary from game to game, based on who you recruit and the decisions you make along the way.
